The Glass House marks a very important moment in history—1949, which was the beginning of post-war America. There was a lot going on in architecture and also in design, furniture, and the exploration of new art forms. … It [The Philip Johnson Glass House] is very unique as it’s a home that is open to all the surroundings and it interacts with the landscape.” —Christa Carr, Communication Director of The Glass House

The yearly Glass House Summer Party is coming up on June 9, 2018.  Artist Jenny Holzer will be honored, as she features her brand new mirror edition, inscribed with the words of Philip Johnson himself.

From Paddle 8:

Nestled on a quiet road in New Canaan, Connecticut, is the unexpected mecca of art and design that is Philip Johnson’s Glass House. Having hosted some of the greatest artists of our time, including Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg, and Frank Stella, this 49-acre, 14 structure pastoral campus carries out its legacy of supporting the arts.
