The nomination of Luke Willis Thompson for the 2018 Turner Prize has been controversial. Working across film, performance, installation, and sculpture, his works tackle traumatic histories of class, racial, and social inequality, institutional violence, colonialism, and forced migration. In this video from the Tate, one of a series covering the four nominees, Thompson discusses the inspiration and development of the trilogy of films that are currently being featured.
