“Looking at these solid light works is a kind of engagement more than like a kind of watching.” —Anthony McCall
Anthony McCall is a sculptor whose medium is light. He is currently featured in a knock-out solo show at Sean Kelly Gallery in New York, Split Second, on through January 26, 2019. As an added bonus to this, his sixth solo outing with Kelly, we are lucky to get something of a mini-retrospective of his work, thanks to the inclusion of his great work Doubling Back (2003), which was featured in the 2004 Whitney Biennial, and a selection of photographs from the 1970s that reflect his earliest experiments in projected light and smoke. In this video, McCall talks us through the exhibition.
