“How many people here would define themselves as loosely involved in the arts? [most hands go up] This is a disaster for me!” —Jerry Saltz
It is well established that we are fans of Pulitzer Prize-winning critic Jerry Saltz over here at Daily Plinth HQ – for better and for worse. But due in no small part to his exploding popularity and to our preference for sitting at home watching videos rather than going out, we haven’t caught a lecture of his in quite some time. So we are here to help you while we help ourselves with this video of a very lively talk Saltz gave in 2018 for the lecture series Kent Presents. Love him or hate him, this brilliant, exasperating, hilarious, insightful, hectoring, and candid 40-minute romp through the whole of art history is worth every minute.
