“If you plan these things, then you’re more likely to make mistakes, or not be happy with the results. But when you go there with the assumption or the mind to just allow things to unfold, then they become what they should be, and everything’s a mistake, and you just learn to enjoy the process.” —Shantell Martin
With countless collaborations ranging from cultural organizations like the New York City Ballet and the Denver Art Museum to consumer goods like Puma and Tiffany & Co, it seems artist Shantell Martin is everywhere these days. And as far as we are concerned, deservedly so. We happen to be fans of her intuitive style, generous spirit, and anyone-can-do-it approach to art.
The good folks at Adobe Magazine sat down with Martin last spring and we got this insightful overview of her history, her process, and latest projects.
