“This idea of making forms, working with forms, simply came to my mind. That’s it. It’s a dance.” — Geta Brătescu
Geta Brătescu, the grande dame of Romanian conceptual art, passed away last week at the age of 92. On the occasion of her 90th birthday in 2016, the Hamburger Kunsthalle mounted the first major retrospective of her work outside of her native Romania. In this charming short film, “Art is a Serious Game,” the curators visit Brătescu at home as she continues to create work and talk about her life-long love of travel and film.
