“For me, all of this work that I’m doing is my way to act, is my way to engage, to tell something. With the goal of inspiring people to do their own part.” —Federico Solmi
Open Spaces, the groundbreaking festival of arts and culture taking place in Kansas City, ends its two–month run on October 28. One of the highlights of the art exhibitions curated by Dan Cameron spread throughout the city is the latest, and largest-to-date, installation of The Great Farce – the epic video installation by Italian-born, New York-residing artist Federico Solmi. In this video, we visit Solmi’s studio to see the incredible amount of work — from the early inspiration, through the hand drawings, the animations, and finally the construction — involved in producing the video and installation.
