If you are lucky enough to be in London over the holidays, the exhibition Space Shifters at the Hayward Gallery (through January 6, 2019) has been getting rave reviews and drawing enormous crowds. Of the many highlights in the exhibition, at the top of the list must be a very rare re-creation of sculptor Richard Wilson’s seminal work 20:50 (1987), first created for Matt’s Gallery in East London. In this video, Wilson explains the background of the first creation of the work, and how it fits into his overall sculptural practice.
