Fred Wilson’s ambitious, ongoing installation Afro Kismet is now on view at Pace Gallery in New York, through August 17, 2018. An iteration of the installation was featured in the 15th Istanbul Biennial in the fall of 2017. In this video for the Istanbul Biennial, Wilson talks about the inspiration, and – more critically – the questioned assumptions, that drive the installation.
