This year at Frieze London, the organizers introduced a laudable new program, Social Work: A New Section Dedicated to Women Who Challenged the Market. This is in addition to their ongoing series of Live performances, which tackle the thorny problem of presenting performance art in the art fair context, continuing at Frieze through October 7. This year’s Live program is curated by Diana Campbell Betancourt of Samdani Art Foundation and the Dhaka Art Summit. Here she discusses her Control ~ concept and the extraordinary group of artists she selected.
