A highlight of the upcoming Miami Art Week will be the first solo museum exhibition in the United States for Manuel Solano at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami, I Don’t Wanna Wait for Our Lives to Be Over. Working across mediums, Solano explores issues of identity and its formation by drawing from their personal life, memories, and popular culture. In preparation for the exhibition, ICA Miami visited Solano in their studio, as they reflected on the significance of identity-driven work.
