On now through January 20, 2019 at the National Gallery in London is Courtauld Impressionists: From Manet to Cézanne, a collaborative exhibition with The Courtauld Gallery (which is closed for “around two years” for major renovations), traces the development of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings through a selection of over forty masterpieces from each collection. In this video, curator Anne Robbins discusses the importance of two of Edouard Manet’s pivotal masterworks, Music in the Tuileries Gardens (1862 – from the collection of the National Gallery, London) and A Bar at the Folies-Bergère (1882 – from the collection of the Courtauld Gallery).

We’ll be taking a brief hiatus for the holidays – we’ll be back after the New Year. Thank you all for following along with us this year! From everyone here at Daily Plinth, we wish you all a happy and restful holiday season, full of art and music, friends and family, and peace and laughter.
