STUDIOS: Amy Myers Gives Form to the Unseen Universe
Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts
01.23.2019“I started to draw, and I found that I could funnel these passions, and inspiration, and questions into a drawing format… and I developed this whole language around the unseen world.” —Amy Myers
Amy Myers grew up with a physicist father who encouraged her to question and explore the underlying structure of the universe. As an artist – first with drawing, and now in oil paints – Myers has developed a visual language that gives voice to these explorations, which Eric Fischl once referred to as “totems to Cosmic Sexuality.” She has recently joined the outstanding Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts Studio Program, where she has been working on her shift to oil painting. In this video she discusses her practice and how it is evolving at EFA.
