“I try never to narrate what I’m doing. I try to see what I’m doing entirely in pictorial terms, knowing that what I’m doing is suppressing the urge to narrate.” — Jeff Wall
Acclaimed photographer Jeff Wall (b. 1946, Vancouver, Canada) was recently the subject of his first solo show with Gagosian in New York, after leaving his longtime gallery Marian Goodman several years ago. For the occasion, he got the always–great Photographers in Focus treatment from Nowness. In this short film directed by Tim Georgeson, Wall takes us on a walkthrough of New York, the installation of his show, and a number of his iconic images.
