“And this is permissible? You’re not breaking any law?” —Rosemary Gurnett
“Is this illegal or not?” —Howard Gurnett
“Yeah, it is technically illegal.” —Keith Haring
“It is illegal!” —HG

In 1983 Keith Haring (b. May 4, 1958, Reading, PA; d. February 16, 1990, New York, NY) visited Milwaukee, Wisconsin to paint a mural on a construction fence around the new building for the Haggerty Museum of Art at Marquette University. While in town to paint the mural, Haring took the time to talk with Howard and Rosemary Gurnett of Channel 12 in this not-to-be-missed interview. Haring is as insightful, charming, and kind as ever, and the Gurnetts even get some pins!
