“All social interactions are inherently political. Historically, house culture has often been a mode of resistance, opening up new understandings of community and solidarity.” – Phil Collins
Creative Time’s Bring Down the Walls project launches Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Firehouse, Engine Company 31, a historic, decommissioned fire station in Lower Manhattan.
From Creative Time:
Spend Saturdays in May at the Firehouse for Bring Down The Walls, our school for radical thought turned dance club, using house music as a lens to examine the prison industrial complex. Join artist Phil Collins, The Fortune Society, and over 100 collaborators for four transformative weekends working towards dismantling the systems that lock the body up and dancing to music that sets the body free.
