Robert Rauschenberg was born on October 22, 1925 in Port Arthur, Texas (d. May 12, 2008). In this video from OvationTV, Rauschenberg tells the story of how he came to be in the possession of the stuffed goat in his iconic work Monogram (1955-59), and the process of developing the work. Calvin Tomkins also makes an appearance to discuss the importance of the work.
