“It’s surprising how much you can do if you don’t stop all life, if you keep going.” —Renzo Piano

Architect Renzo Piano is truly one of the greats, and a personal favorite of ours here at Daily Plinth, for his design of two of our favorite museums – the Menil Collection in Houston (1987), and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York (2015). A winner of the Pritzker Prize (and just about every other award that is bestowed on architects) is subject of a breathtaking monograph entitled Piano. Complete Works 1966–Today by author Philip Jodidio, and published by Taschen. Recently, Taschen released an expanded, limited Art Edition that comes in its own wooden crate, and with a sketch by Piano of the Menil Collection. Taschen visited the renowned – and legendarily kind and enthusiastic – architect in his Paris studio as his team worked on the design of the crate for the new edition.
