“It all sort-of feeds in, in its own way. When I write, it’s normally something that I can’t paint, and I paint what I can’t write. So, most of the paintings, the narrative isn’t that clear.” —Lynette Yiadom-Boakye
Lynette Yiadom-Boakye was shortlisted for the 2013 Turner Prize and has had an enviable schedule since then, including an exhibition as part of the 2015 Venice Biennial, and solo shows at the Serpentine (2015), the Haus der Kunst (2015-2016), Kunsthalle Basel (2016), and the New Museum (2017). Not to mention a sterling string of group shows around the world, and the honor of the 2018 Carnegie Prize. Most recently, she opened a dynamite show at Jack Shainman, which people seem to be pretty excited about – In Lieu Of A Louder Love runs through February 16, 2019.
